(Epic) Are You Using Bonus Feat Lists in 3.5?

the Jester

Legend
Okay, the ELH gives each class a list of bonus epic feats they can choose from... the 3.5 DMG gives epic-level pcs a quick treatment, and mentions that they get bonus feats, but doesn't give the lists.

How are other epic-level dms interpeting this? Does this imply the lists should be done away with?

Each class should have a specific class list of feats. I don't think epic fighters should be picking up epic meta magic feats.

I totally agree, but I can foresee arguments based on the 3.5 dmg already.

If the arguements are from the players, I suggest hitting them over the head with the DMG until they agree with you :D

Wizards' Response

Oh, I'm not worried about my current crop of characters- I'm just curious about other peoples' interpretations of this sort of thing.
I recently asked WotC the following question:

"Are fighters and wizards beyond 20th level still limited in what feats they can select with their bonus feats?"

And here's their interpretation:

Yes, you must still select from the list of fighter or wizard bonus feats.
Unfortunately none of the epic feats in the DMG (nor in the Complete Warrior) state what classes can choose them as bonus feats.

Also, since all epic level classes gain bonus feats, are they limited in their selections as well?

The version of the ELH in the SRD has been updated to the 3.5e SRD, available here. Use the epic feats (and lists of possible bonus feats for classes) in the (revised) ELH.

I imagine you're on your own as far as the Complete Warrior goes, however.
