Epic Destiny: The Right Hand of Yeenoghu

I was inspired by the recent gnoll Dragon article, but there were no character options besides feats! I set out to rectify that. Behold!

Right Hand of Yeenoghu
"I am the servant of the Beast of Butchery, wielder of his fury! Your flesh shall sate my hunger!"
Prerequisites: 21st level, non-good alignment, must have dismembered a foe in battle.

A few warriors every generation display the ferocity and rancor of a demon in battle. Of these, the cruelest and most vicious attract the attention of Yeenoghu through their foul deeds-- and he calls to them. You have been called in this way, to serve the Demon Prince of Gnolls as your master and make clear his path towards ruling the Prime Material Plane.

Immortality: During your life, your cruelty and rage become legend as the world collapses into terror and anarchy. Upon your inevitable death in battle, you are reincarnated in the image of your lord, and wreak even more havoc. When the entire world has been subjugated, your work is finished. You rip a gate to the Abyss open with your bare hands, and escort Yeenoghu into his new dominion, to reign over for eternity. Soon, the Demon Prince turns his eye to the Astral Sea...

-Shinigami Eyes - 21st level: Yeenoghu plucks out your eyes and gives you new ones, forged of the Abyss. As a standard action, you may focus to see the auras of all living creatures within 40 feet (8 squares) until the start of your next turn. Objects do not obstruct this sight, nor does invisibility. The aura of a creature imparts knowledge of its true name and the remaining time of its natural lifespan. However, auras of immortal and elemental creatures reveal no information.

-Incarnation of the Demon - 24th level: Once per day, when you are reduced to 0 hit points, you are reborn as a lord of gnolls. You regain all hit points, and transform into a gaunt, nine-foot tall gnoll. In this form, you gain a +2 bonus to all attacks and damage. You may only use at-will powers while in this state, and must attack at least one creature every round or leave this form. You may end this effect at any time as a free action, leaving you prone in your normal form at 1 HP.
If you die as a gnoll lord, your soul is dragged into the Abyss to be punished for your incompetence. If you are raised from the dead afterwards, you take a -2 death penalty, rather than -1.

-Visage of Death - 26th level Daily Utility power
You glare at your foes with fiery contempt, and they fear to strike you. Even allies quiver at your ferocity.
Minor action – Fear, Stance
You assume the likeness of the Beast of Butchery himself. While you hold this stance, you may make an Intimidate check with a +5 bonus against Will as an immediate interrupt when an enemy within 20 squares attacks you. If the enemy is adjacent, on a hit they are stunned (save ends). Otherwise, on a hit the enemy is dazed (save ends). Your appearance even unnerves your comrades: adjacent allies take a -1 penalty to attacks.

-Demon Scion - 30th level: Your blood runs hot with the fury of a demon. You count as an elemental creature for effects dependent on type. Your Abyssal eyes are sharpened by the eternal flames: You may roll all attacks twice and take the better result.

You rip a gate to the Abyss open with your bare hands,

Heh, heh, for some reason this line filled my dark heart with glee.

I like it. I don't think there is anything particularly gnollish about it, more like a "I love demon lord X" destiny.

How about incorporating some of the powers gnolls have into the build. Maybe when you use Incarnation of the Demon you gain the Bloodthirst and Pack Attack gnoll powers or something like that.

That's a really good idea! You're right, currently it's mostly cosmetic, and introducing some gnoll and Yeenoghu powers and abilities would distinguish it more. I'll try that.

Actually what occurred to me just now looking through the Yeenoghu article is what you really need is a paragon path: Champion of Yeenoghu and then an epic destiny.

With the paragon path you gain some of the abilities the lesser gnolls have like bloodthirst and pack attack. Then with the epic destiny you gain some of the powers of an Aspect of Yeenoghu like Fetid Breath, Feint, Hyena Strike and/or demonic wrath.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing your revisions. I have a love of all things gnoll.

Well, I want to keep the gnoll powers a fairly small part of the overall class abilities, because, of course, some actual gnolls will be taking these. I'm also kinda hamstrung, since EDs don't give attacks. But a gnoll/Yeenoghu PP would go well with this, that'll be the next thing I do.

Ba-dum pssh!

He's a demon gnoll, not a furry. The difference is fine, but it's there.

Besides, this look like a paw to you?

There's no reason at all, I just don't want this ED to be restricted. All races should be able to glorify the Beast of Butchery!
