Now that I have your attention. Divine Rank 21 and higher gods are those that have 21 or more levels in a given class (or classes).

At least this is my theory.

Not really. D&Dg was written so that you don't need the ELH thus none of them have more then 20 levels in a class. DR of 21+ is defined in D&Dg and has nothing to do with levels in the least.

However, you can rule in your own games that this is the case if you really want to.

IMO they really should have waited until ELH was out, before statting out the gods in D&Dg. As it is, the deity stats now are a mishmash.

Well, since you only need the 3 core books for any other book, it makes sense that they did it this way. However, an on-line project of restating the gods using ELH would be interesting.

Even if they'd statted the gods using ELH rules, that doesn't mean you would need the ELH to use those numbers. If all you're after is pregenerated stats for a deity, you don't need the rules for how to generate those stats. You could just reprint any material that's completely new, such as the Epic feats (and they ended up having to do something like that anyway).

So what if the books are written to be used independant of each other. I said that becuase it might help to simulate how far about DR 1 to DR 20 gods that DR 21+ gods are.
