Epic Druid - Animal Companion

On page 208 in the 3.5 DMG, there is an entry for the Epic Druid. The information for the animal companion states that "the druid may have a maximum number of animal companions equal to twice her class level, as normal." I assume this is a reference to the 3.0 rule, right? 3.5 druids only get one companion, correct?

Yes, I believe you are correct. I do remember some people bitching that they couldn't get two weaker animal companions rather than one big kahuna.

And re: the errors in 3.5, yes it is regrettable but true. It seems that WotC has adoped the Microsoft policy of "user testing."
