Chapter 1: Epic Level Characters
Saving throws for all classes go up by +1 each even numbered level after 20th (22nd, 24th, 26th etc)
Attack bonus goes up by +1 each odd numbered level after 20th.
Characters still gain hit dice after 20th level and you can advance classes beyond 20th level (ie, you can have a 29th level Fighter)
Ability scores increase every 4 levels as per normal
Gain a feat each level divisible by 3 (21st, 24th etc)
It has tables advancing the core classes to 30th level, and the DMG prestige classes to 20th, with examples on how to advance them further.
Chapter 2: Skills
Epic level uses for old skills. For instance, you can balance on a cloud (DC 120), you can use search to sense magic (DC 60), or use tumble to avoid all falling damage (DC 100)
Chapter 3: Feats
144 new epic level feats. Things like Thundering Rage, Swarm of Arrows, Unholy Strike, Music of the Gods.
Chapter 4: Epic Spells
You have to develop Epic spells by yourself. They do give some examples of Epic Spells: Hell Ball (which you all know), Dragon Strike (10 adult red dragons appear and attack enemies), Damnation (send your foe to hell).
To cast an Epic Spell, you have to make spellcraft checks at a DC set by the spell. For instance, Hell Ball is DC 90, Damnation is DC 97, while Dragon Strike is DC 500.
The number of Epic level spells you gain is equal to Knowledge (arcana) or Knowledge (religion) / 10.
All Epic level spells are considered to be level 10 spells.
Chapter 5: Epic Adventures
How to run high level adventures. Also has an expanded XP chart up to CR 40
Chapter 6: Magic Items
Describes new Epic level magic items (such as Mace of Devestation: +7 heavy mace that ignores hardness or damage reduction, and can do critical hits to objects and constructs).
New artifacts too: Axe of the Dwarvish Lords, Eye of Gruumsh, Codex of Infinite Planes are just some of them.
Chapter 7: Monsters
Includes new Dragons: (Force, Prismatic) Some Golems, and many others. It infact goes up to CR 100, although in this version of the book only a XX is listed next to the name and no details are given.
Happy to answer any questions, but might not be back for 24 hours.
