Disclaimer: my highest level character is currently level 20, so I haven't quite hit Epic level play. I'm planning for it though.

What I like about the Epic rules is that things don't instantly change. The power progression is pretty even. With somewhere between 1 feat/3 levels to 5 feats/6 levels depending on class, you won't suddenly become a world-destroying monster. The biggest potential for abuse is the Epic Spells combined with lots of cash and some skill-boosting items, in my opinion, but that's because they are open-ended. On the whole, it's just a continuation of the characters, with new abilities opening up.

epic leadership

Our group is still around 10 levels away from Epic play but we have incorporated one thing into the campaign. My PC has the leadership feat and my DM is alloowing me to use the Epic leadership rules to attract PC class followers as well as adepts and aristocrats.

I really love this. Now my Cleric can have another cleric of his god around to tend to the temple, help with various issues etc. If you have PC's with the leadership feat allowing the epic variant in adss a lot to the feat and I highly reccommend it.

Any other Epic Stories

My group is rapidly approaching these levels and I would love to read about others' experiences.
