Epic Mirror Image

First Post
I'm considering turning my character into a lich. He is a lawful evil wizard, but he has convinced he’s surroundings that he is lawful neutral. At the point he is turning in to a lich, it will be difficult to continue this illusion, that’s why I need the epic Mirror Image spell. The concept of the spell is that it creates a permanent lifelike illusion, of my former self, around my body, to mask my lichhood for the world. My problem is; which epic spell seeds should I use? I’m thinking Delude, but it doesn’t seem to fit the Mirror Image description.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Have you considered Disguise Self, with Permanency?

Or a Hat of Disguise?

Shapechange, with Persistent, is a once-a-day solution as well, though definitely Epic.

Mirror Image seems like the wrong spell to base your approach on. It creates many images of the way the character looks. You want a single image of the way your character used to look before he dies and began to rot.

Remember that becoming a Lich doesn't instantly cause the flesh to fall away. That takes time. Consider Gentle Repose, which delays the physical decay of a dead body. Them a few Mending spells or something similar, to keep the old meatsack from showing any of the day to day wear and tear, and you're golden.

Also consider creating a Simulacrum of yourself, then possessing it via Magic Jar. The real you is hidden away somewhere, safe and beyond the reach of your enemies, while the public you still gets to enjoy all the pleasures of the flesh, so to speak.

Would a persistent Alter Self accomplish what you're looking for? You'd actually change your appearance, instead of putting up an illusion that runs the risk of someone seeing thru. You'd need a way to make the duration permanent.

Not sure how high a level you are, but Polymorph Any Object will permanently alter the physical appearance of anyone with duration factor 9 and above. If you're staying the same kingdom (Animal, +5), same size (+2), Related (Skeleton is to human body +2) and same intelligence (+2), you're good. Unless going from humanoid to undead transitions you from the "Animal" to "Mineral" category, but I'm pretty sure that falls in line with different class(ification) of thing.

Either way, you'd appear to be under the effect of a Transmutation spell for those savvy enough to detect such things, but really, as a high level caster by that point, it shouldn't appear that unusual.

Non-detection effects are fairly easy to get, either through items or spells, so I wouldn't worry about how you'll detect.

Good call on the Alter Self and Polymorph Any Object approach. I knew that Lich were immune to Polymorph effects, but had forgotten that they could still use them on themselves.
