So your PCs are 18th+ level. Do they own castles? Towers? Countries? What do your PCs do? And what happens when they reach Epic level? Do they still go around like an adventuring party?

How do you DM an Epic-level campaign? Is it the same as a 'normal' campaigns?

Um.. yes. My 18th level campaign is pretty much as it's been for the past 10 levels. They still go adventuring as a group, vanquishing (can I use that word? :)) evil and looting. The opposition and locales have changed though.

Last adventure they went to a layer in abyss and freed a soul from there. (Which they had gotten in there in the first place.) Slayed Ezmarec, the balor that ran the joint and his Half-fiend kraken buddy. (Of maximum advancement, aye!)

I'd like to have a more RP in my campaign, but my players seem to enjoy hack'n'slash. Maybe I'll cook up something spectacular for the 21st level barrier ;).

We had one campaign that just went into hiatus. The two characters that started the campaign where 37th and 36th. It started in 2ed and we used the original epic preview rules to translate to 3ed. The characters were multiclassed in 2ed and up to around 19/19 before we switched to 3ed. Our DM never had any problem with the higher levels. As the character moved up in level they became involved in the more important power plays.
One of the characters (Cleric/Rouge/Divine Agent) is a Count of the Empire and an Archbishop. The other (Arcane Trickster) is the Elemental Lord of Earth (campaign custom template, one for each element) and runs a merchant trading house with offices on several continenets and dimensions. Both are immensely rich but they keep the excess gold out of circulation, don't want to devalue it. The Mage bought two castles and paid in silver pieces from a dragons hoard - the market was so glutted with silver, trading ships were using it as ballast.

Well, in our campaign we did an equal mix of politics, with plane hopping adventuresm stopping dead gods from reviving, interfering in abyssal politics, exploring legendary dungeons, running from a crazed green dragon trying to kill us. (Long story) We've also rescued lower level adventurers, run a small area on Mt. Celestia. Generally all sorts of high level goodness. We were on hiatus until the epic level book came out, but I've been told we'll be restarting in a week. Hopefully this will be as cool as I think it will be! :)
