Epic Spell Devolopment Question

I can't find an answer in the SRD, so I thought I'd come ask you 3.5 experts. When adding additional participants to lower the spell's Spellcraft DC, can you use spell slot of different levels?

For example, in our party, we have a favord soul, a sorcerer/wizard/ultimate magus (myself) and a bard as the only folks with casting abilities. When designing an epic spell, can I use a 6th level slot from the bard and an 8th or 9th from the favored soul? Or must all used slots be of the same level?
