Thanks. But I had another Freelancer quit today. Gezzz... Something to cover in the book. But I picked up a good replacement that says he can get the chapter done in a week. So hopefully we'll still get it out.

Thanks for all the best wishes for our soon to be gaming-boy!

I just got the POD version of the epublisher primer, and I have to say, it was pretty cool. Some of the graphs suffered (note, use patterns not colors), the paper stock was thinner than standard in RPGs, and the cover looked a little "pre-loved", but the binding seemed firm and it was definately worth the cost. I ordered it in large part to see exactly what a POD product would look like, and after seeing this, I will order others.

Good work!
Nell.

PS - the content is darned cool too.

Actually, what started out as a good idea and reasonable chance to showcase the quality of the POD turned into a disaster.

1) the cover is at only 150dpi and not that interesting. 300DPI covers look great.

2) the printer was testing their new high definition printer and apparently the ink needs to set for a few days and they didn't know that - so all my copies came in with scatch/pock marks on them. The white dots and such have never ben on any previous POD we had from them.

3) the charts on the inside were done in Excell and I couldn't for the life of me get them to save at any higher resolution then 72dpi. So they look like crap in the book.

In short, this book represents maybe 50% of what a standard POD book we do looks like. It really is NOT a good example of what the POD quality is. I'm rather pissed at the printer but they will be running some more for me soon to replace bad ones.

If you want to see some good POD, try some of the Darwin's World stuff.

Does that mean I get another copy? :-)

Overall, I like the POD. I didn't want to harp on the negative points too much, but I'm glad to hear POD is capable of better, and I'm looking forward to seeing it. I'm planning on doing POD versions of any books I release, and the better quality they are, the happier I'll be.

Cheers
