Equipping an angel

I'm playing an Eladrin that has been reincarnated into a human's body. DM and I agreed to treat the resulting creature as an Aasimar. He's a 7th level character (crusader1/paladin5/outcast champion1), and his church has agreed to outfit him. We're limiting gear to what's appropriate for his level, but it can all be "purchased" in one go.

So: any ideas on equipping such an angel? I envision him as a melee paladin, sword and board.

Feat advice also much appreciated. Right now I'm thinking White Raven Tactics, Divine Vigor (synergizes well with Crusader abilities), Stone Power.

Just making sure... shouldn't he be an 8th level character, as Aasimars have a +1 level adjustment?

Hmmn. Are you sure you want to go Weapon and Shield? I suppose there is always Block Arrow and Shield Specialisation, either of which might let you get some degree of usefulness out of a Shield at this level.

Oops--8th level it is.

Weapon and shield seems like the most thematically appropriate. Plus, every other character I've had in D&D has used a two-hander or TWF.

Right now I'm thinking Ancestral Weapon (longsword). I was thinking of getting a Holy weapon, but the Sanctify Martial Strike feat accomplishes much the same (does extra damage to evil, makes weapon count as Good for bypassing DR). Any other ideas for an angelic weapon? Should it be Cold Iron, or Adamantine?
