I remember wanting to use "Johnbonhamssqueekybasspedal" for a username but it was too long. Listen to "Since I've Been Loving You" off Led Zeppelin III and you can hear how bad his drum pedals are crying out for WD-40> Oh yeah now that you hear it, you'll never be able to unhear it. You're welcome.

I remember being surprised I was allowed to have a space in my username. :D
(Although my original username 'JERandall' didn't have a space, so go figure.)

Yeah, I remember the old site, it allowed us to play 3rd edition before the books were even out. Got us out of the 2e slump we were in... Still playing with most of that group today!

Oh god, no. I had forgotten that until now.
It rang some warning bells for me.
But only the soft, "memory suppressed" kind, not the red lights and klaxons of "RPG Pundit." Or the "They're coming to take him away" ostinato of "Tandem Spoony."
If one can put up with the various kinds of crazy, all of those beings had things worth reading. Some of it seems just for memorability; on that score, it worked.

Over on the-other-site-we-don't-mention-and-which-is-now-infested-with-spambots, there was a cool flowchart of the offspring of various sites.

Sadly although I can find the CM wiki via Wayback Machine, the image itself is gone. :(
Was at the bottom of this page <Main Page - The Library of Alexandria>
I miss CM. It was a lot of fun when everyone was there. I think FB groups killed it. I believe that much was lost when they switched off the old tech.

I know I had a lot of epic posts over there that I wish I had saved.

Not least: Asshattery Through the Ages, my statistical analysis of, well, you know.
