We ran across something a bit goofy when discussing True Sorcery over on the Iron Heroes message boards...
Your average cone-shaped spell has an area of effect listed -- Cone-shaped burst (or spread) -- and a range listed -- 30 ft., for example.
Now, in the Augmentation section of Chapter 2, we have different DC modifiers for each of those components... Burst or Spread: +5 DC per 5-ft. radius, Cone Area of Effect: +6 DC per 10 ft., and Range: +1 DC per 10 ft.
Which one do we use?
The Cone Area of Effect modifier would make the most sense, but the basic sample effects of spells provided in the pdf seem to use the Range modifier to increase the area of a cone (and the Pattern spell is wrong even then, incidentally, it lists "+20 ft. (+3)" for all of its sample effects). If that's right, what's the point of the Cone Area of Effect modifier? If it's wrong, the DCs for every cone-shaped effect in the book/pdf needs to be changed.
