How does he do that? Sighing, Jason let out a quick, "Yes, sir." He stood up and went to the juice machine again. He chose apple juice this time. It was going to be a long day and he was going to have to call in a favor or three. So much for his next project. Opening his office door, Jason folded up the schematics, notes and documents that decorated his entire desk. Now able to see the wood underneath, he rubbed his first finger over the center. In moments, a panel slid aside and a digital rolodex appeared. At the same time, Jason fired up his tracing program. Then he opened another application, one which killed the original trace and added a looptrace. His sources were his own and he didn't want to lose them. Jason picked up the phone when the light went green. A voice answered the other line. "Si?" "Beautiful day in Venice, isn't it?" "What the hell do you want, you son of a...?" "Be quiet and listen for a second. I got fifty G's says you know some stuff that's been going down in Home Town." "That's major lira man, you good for it?" "Aren't I always? Same setup. You get me the info, I'll get you the cash. Get me something good, I'll send you a present." "Like the last time?" "Not my fault. Your people couldn't smell a setup if it was shoved in their faces. We have a deal?" "Yeah sure. What do you need?" "The usual. General activity levels, any lucrative business opportunities, things like that." "You got it. When do you want it?" "Sooner the better. Preferrably before Thursday morning." "I'll see what I can do." "Make it happen, or I find a new you. Capice?" "I got it." The fear in the other man's voice changed it's tone. "Listen, I will tell you this up front. Some of the dons have been making major close downs. No activity for a while. Lots of hush hush. Be careful, whatever you're doing man." "I appreciate the sentiments. Thursday morning." Jason hung up the phone with another sigh. Paging through his directory, he dialed another number. This process continued until his rounds were made. Three Mafia contacts, two Russian Mafia contacts and a fence named Race. Hopefully, between the six of them, they would find whatever it was St. Claire was looking for. Sitting back in his chair two hours later, Jason drained his apple juice.
