Essentials Character Sheet Online!

I like it, particularly how partial I (and most others, it seems) am to using the CB for character sheets. There's just so much less to have to deal with on it compared to the previous sheets. Having everything on one side of one sheet makes things easier. I really do hope they add this as an option to the CB. It's a nice option. I'm more concerned with getting power and item cards out of the CB than having all the little numbers available to me on my character sheet, anyway.

I too hope that this will be an option within Character Builder. However, I'll point out that you can customize your character sheet within CB already to get it down to one page if you like. I've been doing that for months, and it's much better for me. Just get rid of boxes that you don't need (most of your basic attack power info, your power list, character portrait, background info, notes, etc.) and get rid of blank lines in other boxes that you do need (feats, equipment, etc.). I've only used it for characters up to about 4th level and I know that it would get impractical at some point as the feats pile up, for instance, but for low-level characters it's fine.

You guys really check the math on your player's sheets?

You're either much quicker at it, or have way more time then I do.

I usually don't check the math on the player's sheets unless something seems off then I will ask the player to walk through the calc.

Thinking about the passive scores- isn't that more something your DM would need anyway?

Don't know about others, but I generally tend to keep those numbers in my PC cheat sheet.

It ruins the surprise when you have to ask a PC for his passive score. Except when you do it on purpose... "What's your passive again? Oh... no reason..." ;)

That was my thought as well. As a DM if I need a passive perception score I can just ask for the perception bonus and then adding 10 is trivial. Not worth the space on the sheet IMO.

Sheet.

Today I took the Essentials character sheet and modified it into a foldable half-sheet character sheet not unlike those gameday pre-gen character sheets. (Yes, fold it right in the middle.)

It's perfect to save precious table space. It's perfect for beginners. It's perfect for pre-gen one-shot characters. It's perfect for everyone.

I even included little modifier workspaces to the defenses and attacks and increased the space to write down equipment, magic items, powers and feats. ;)

Download it and tell me what you think about it. (You'll like it, right? :p)

If you want to print it, print it without page-size adjustments, it should come out correctly.

(And yes, I don't need no passive perception box as a player, so don't search it. :p)

Nice... Could you make a version where the bottom part is actually on a second page? That way you could print it on the back side of a sheet that has the top side printed on it, and just have a mini character sheet...

Isn't it just simpler to print out one page, fold it, instead of printing out a half page on both sides? I did it this way so it's easy to use; just print it, fold it and write in the numbers. People can even use it as a full page character sheet if they want to or EVEN go from half-sheet to full-sheet within the BLINK OF AN EYE! :p

I'll see if I have time to make another version. ;)

EDIT: Ah, I forgot. To everyone; if you like it spread it around; I won't advertize it at the usual places. If you like it, spread it around. :)

Yeah, I don't like it for making a long hand character because it has no workspace.
I agree, actually.

I like that it's clean and shiny, but I also like having that workspace. 4e characters have some math behind them, and I don't think hiding it is helpful. I'd rather my players have the math visible.
