Ethnic Fantasy or Science Fiction Writers

I cast about for a title of this thread for a while and that is the best I could come up with I am afraid, though it is arguably racist. In any event, are you aware of any fantasy or science fiction novels by writers who are not white or from Europe of North America? Such as fantasy or science fiction novels from writers who or from Central or South American, from Africa, from China, etc.

Steven Barnes (who I know mostly from his collaborations with Larrry Niven, though he's done a lot of other work) comes to mind.

Octavia E. Butler. She's the number one in alien biology stories.

Samuel R. Delany. Trouble on Triton is amazing.
Delany's Nova and Babel 17 are great, too. And then there's Dhalgren, AKA science fiction's Finnegan's Wake. I love it, though I admit it isn't for everyone.

I've been meaning to read more Butler ever since I found out she's the first SF writer to win a MacArthur genius grant. Hell of trick for someone writing about gene-spliced human/alien hybrids.

I'll add Alejandro Jodorowsky. He's a white European born in Chile whose spent a lot of time in Mexico (also France -- does he count?). He's probably best known as a filmmaker for cult classic like El Topo, The Holy Mountain (which is amazing), and Santa Sangre. But he's also done a number of great SF comics, many with Moebius, like The Incal and The Metabarons. And he once tried to film Dune! (the illustrations H. R. Giger did of the Baron Harokonnen's castle are pre-production art from the project).

Saladin Ahmed - Throne of the Crescent Moon is a fun read.

N.K. Jemisin - Loved her Dreamblood duology. Hope there's four books. ;)

Nnedi Okorafor - Who Fears Death. Interesting SF/Fantasy book set in Saharan Africa.

Others - Ken Liu, Lavie Tidhar, Shaun Tan
