I downloaded the Etools patch, MUCH better. But I need help with making a magic Item I have so it works with the etools program. A PC in a game I play in has a ring that allows me to travel unencombered. My Movement does not drop due to how much I am carrying. How do I make it so it effects my movement with the program? I just noticed that I can't change my characters alignment at all.

You can change alignment on the Level Up screen when you're ready to level up. There are some classes where an alignment change mid-stream would be a problem, so I guess that's why they did it that way.

Magic items created in the House Rules tool (except armor, shields and weapons) don't affect character stats. For something like that you're going to have to get into the database, and even then it may not be possible to do what you're describing.

However, a work-around for your magic ring would be for you to open your character, go to the Purchase screen, and "uncheck" the various items in your inventory. That should simulate having "no encumbrance" because only items checked are counted toward weight carried. (this still might not help if you're wearing medium/heavy armor).

If you use Access to go into [info Ring Bonuses].[ModifyType], you should be able to set it to "Movement" (9). But I think that simply adds to your movement rate rather than allowing you to move unencumbered.

The best workaround I can think of offhand is to not "equip" any of your stuff (except class/craft tools), always leaving you unencumbered. Unfortunately, this isn't perfect either, as your total weight is then wrong (as is your Swim skill).

If I purchase a Bag of Holding...is there any way to show in your equipment list that certain items are contained in the bag of holding therefore not counting towards total weight?

Later....

Nope - not yet.

Yeah items carried / stashed in packs/sacks etc. handling is still a major miss in ET (compared with a certain 2nd ed program ;) )
Still you cant have everything.. I guess hehe

I also noticed that boots of spring and striding have the price of 2500 GP, not around 6000 like in the DMG erratta, while not a bug, just something I noticed.
