For our group, half a year of playing 3.5 was enough to make us revert to 3.0 and live happily ever after.
There was really nothing game-breaking in 3.5 SRD, it's just that most of the changes didn't improve our game and hence they were not worth the cost of new books.
By staying 3.0 the only thing we miss is the new books, but for our style of play it is not really important. Anyway, of all 3.5 books the only one I personally liked enough to buy yet was Unearthed Arcana, and if I really want to use a 3.5 book I can still do that with only minor adjustments.
I am happy to read that my favourite reviewer has similar opinions with me on these! It makes me feel like I'm not completely off
I disagree only with the Buff change: for us it didn't work well because it shifter too much towards stat-boosting items, which are even more boring than stat-boosting spells.
Also front-loading was never an issue for our group, but I can definitely see why for other groups it needed a fix. As matter of fact the "fix" slightly irritated our low level Paladins and Rogues.

Just a few that occur.
