Even more Star Wars: mass Jedi combat?

I see there being two options depending on what feel you want to achieve:

1. Mass combat: If this is what you like then strip down each Jedi to there bare essentials (one or two prominent Jedi powers only) and run a form of mass combat. If you have Chainmail use that as a guide.

2. PC focus: This is a much better option IMO. Your story is about the PCs. The battle is a part of that story. So do the battle as seen through the PCs eyes. Run it like you would a normal game, describing what the PCs see and concentrating on what they do. Only detail combat that the PCs are involved in. As for all other Jedi I would simply narrate what happens based on their abilities (for believability) and the drama (for excitement).

For example, I would set the battle out like a normal story and have a number of exciting prominent shifts and events that the PCs can observe and deal with. Imagine it like a movie, the battle of Endor is a good example where nearly all the action focussed on the heroes. Events could include the Padawans get cornered and must be saved, a group of Jedi fall into a trap or the Jedi score a victory but need aid to exploit it. Never loose focus off the PCs and if you can make the PCs role vital to the success of the battle even if they are just one part of that success.
