Ha. I dug out my books a few days back, and I've been reading as much about the setting as possible, to refresh my mind. Right now, I'm making some quick notes on converting the Charonti Kits into Edges - I figure I'd start with Charonti because they seem more enjoyable to my mind.

There are also a few Charonti hindrances I've written up - "Outcast" means the character is a casteless Charonti who has been exiled from the Civic Centres; "Lightning Rod" attracts Electricity (a la the Galvanist's hindrance... I was thinking of making the hindrance a prerequisite for the Galvanist Edge); and "Teleportation Weakness" means the character can only enter dimensional gates once per day before suffering teleportation weakness (the Porter's special weakness).

I think SW is probably a LOT better for Jakandor over D&D, simply because it is almost expected for Charonti PCs to have Charonath (ie, Undead) followers with them. Using the RAW, each PC should have one zombie under their control, with Guardians controlling many more. I think a group of four PCs, one of them a Guardian (which would've been very likely in old school D&D, since the Guardian was the only Warrior Kit available to Charonti) could easily expect around 6 or 7 Charonath in their control. In SW, running these allies would be much easier. And probably more fun, too.

One thing about the books I never noticed before was the adventure ideas at the end of the first two books. I'm reading through the starting adventure for the Charonti, and while I don't know if I like the format (the PCs start off as initiates who are railroaded into a few events, and then complete these events FOUR YEARS LATER), I do like the many different random twists available for each encounter to make it your own. I might even try running it as-is. Or maybe not.

One thing I *was* thinking about was running a few intro Charonti adventures before going into a SW version of I1- Dwellers of The Forbidden City. I think the two could mesh fairly well together.

And, yeah, I'll post up some of my conversions as quick as I get them done.

I've known about the books for quite a while. Never bought any of the trilogy though. I am considering buying them after 4E comes out and converting it to a PoL setting.
