Well I know in the back of the monster manual it lets you know how to make a character say half fiend, or vampire... lich etc. However is their a way to possibly make an unwilling victim a death knight or say any other fiend... that you can count on... when I say count on... I mean you control.... or can control with high enough will save....

I have a 14th lev Lawful Evil Wizard who likes to amuse himself...

Step One: Kill target.

Step Two: Secure corpse of target.

Step Three: Cast "Creater Greater Undead" on target's corpse. You will probably have to research the spell yourself, because it doesn't normally appear on the Wiz/Sor spell list.

Step Four: Find a way to get your effective caster level up to 18th. This way, when you cast the spell, the target will return as a vampire.

Step Five: Cast "Dominate Undead". Again, a personal research spell, a variation based off Dominate Person, but that only effects undead. Possibly take additional measures to either lower the target's will save, or restrict them in the chance of a successful save.

Step Six: Find a way to continue upkeeping the Dominate effect over an extended period of time. Spefficially attuned magical items, rituals, etc.

There, you now have your very own Vampire thrall. It's not easy. It would take alot of time and money to set up, and could quite easily come back to bite you in the backside.

Step Seven: Get some therapy. You're not a very nice person, what with wanting to enslave souls and what have you.

How about this.
1. Construct Simalraclum/construct
2. Have your origional self killed by a vampire.
3. Have Construct/simalraclum kill the vampire.

Viola-you can now make as many vampires as you want, get some big bonuses, and don't have to serve the vampire that turned you.
