Ex Machina is a complete Tri-Stat based cyberpunk game, with complete rules, an introduction to the genre, and four distinct settings. Game mechanics by David Pulver, and setting information from Bruce Baugh, Michelle Lyons, Rebecca Borgstrom, and Bradley Kayl & Christian Gossett.

Influenced by works wider in scope than Gibson's and Sterling's, Ex Machina can be used for traditional cyberpunk "edgerunner/shadowrunner" style gaming, or more explorative campaigns more closely based on newer "post-cyberpunk" fiction such as Doctorow's Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom. Ex Machina has all the crunchy bits -- templates, body-modification technology, and virtual reality -- that gamers love, and it's lavishly illustrated with 30 two-page artwork spreads, all from renknowned art studio UDON.

If you like CyberPunk as a genre, or any of the CyberPunk-styled RPGs, Ex Machina is a MUST OWN book.

Really. I kid you not.

Yes, I am telling you to go out there and buy it, even though I have nothing to do with it. It is that good.

The price is worth it just for the analysis and history of CyberPunk itself, as well as the four campaign settings which can be used with any cyberpunk RPG. The rules are just gravy. Really. I don't even like the dx system / Tri-Stat system, but this book is still a must own.

Glad to see it in e-release, Mark... But the price is a bit hefty for a PDF release.

Thank you for the compliments. Ex Machina is pretty sweet indeed!

We believe that $30 -- 75% of MSRP -- is a very fair price for the PDF, though. When a book moves to "out of print" status, our PDFs drop in price accordingly to 25% (minimum of $5).
