Thats my traveller games system write up.

I mean, for making a star system its great; but combining it with a plot seed generator might make it more useful for me :D

Wow! That's nice work right there. I'm impressed. I would totally use something like that in my future campaign setting...how did you generate it?
 

Not sure what you're looking for, DJ, other than, yeah, that looks sufficiently detailed for even the most die-hard player immersed in his science officer character.

I created a program years ago which used the GURPS Traveller world builder system (First In) It gave a nice little graphic of the sun(s) with clickable info, and highlighted blue any randomly generated planets in the biozone, and gave pretty much all the stats you have listed here. Bought VB .Net to write a new one for GURPS 4E Space but haven't gotten around to it yet :heh:

I know there's a couple of other programs out there to do the same thing.
 

I would totally use something like that. It doesn't matter so much if you use all of it. What really matters is
1) Depth of emulation for immersion purposes for those who look for that in a game (hardish-SF fans)
2) Contingency use for GMs with wandering spacefarer players who could end up anywhere.

For RPG purposes, I do like my stats cobbled down into bands. I'm an engineer, but even my eyes glaze over when I see mass expressed in scientific notation kilograms. Give me something I can relate to, like Earth masses.
 

Huh. Found some of my old Traveller planets lying around :) And yeah, sometimes presentation can make a big difference. Click on the planet image and maps on the pages for bigger views.
