Examples of Magic Academies

I'm looking for some examples of magic academies in RPG settings (other than Dragonlance, which I'm already familiar with). I'm also aware of Hogwarts and Redhurst Academy of Magic.

While it is made for AD&D I found that a lot of the flavor is universal. Fleshes out the school with grounds and personnel. It has mini-quests for different adventure levels, magic items and specific spell which are not that hard to adapt. It has rich history of how it came to by with suggestion where it can be placed in the traditional AD&D camapign settings.

For a non-RPG example, read A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula LeGuin. Besides being a great book, it describes the protagonist's development from learning his first few magic words to leaving the School of Wizards as a fully-fledged wizard.

There's not a ton of detail in the adventures, but War of the Burning Sky has the Lyceum, which I heavily cribbed from Talislanta's academy of the same name.

Which one? There's the old Magicians' Guild Hall and the new School of Magecraft.

There's also Edrecort's Academy of Thaumaturgical Science in Alfheim, Eriadna High and Sundsvall University in Alphatia, Academy of the Arcane in Milenia, University of Air Magics in Aeria, The Great School of Magic of Glantri City, Uppsala College in Vestland (only for runes), Zyndryl University in Aquas, Aerial University of Ar, Rockhome's Lyceum of Dwarven Magic, and College of Lucinius in Thyatis.

You're right. I forgot that it was also related to spells.

How about the academies in Menzoberranzan (the Drow city in FR)?

The city's priestesses are trained in the spider-shaped clerical academy Arach-Tinilith.
Arach-Tinilith is neighbored by the warrior school Melee Magthere
Sorcere, the school in which wizardly magic is taught.

The most powerful clerics, fighters and mages of Menzoberranzan pass through the academies, and the title of master/mistress of an academy is coveted. The master/mistress of an academy in Menzoberranzan is often the most powerful drow in that particular discipline.

You could adopt those as they say or could house-rule and tweak them to suit your own needs.
