Excerpt: Martial Power: Warlord

Care to summarize, for those of us who can't get in?
New Class Feature

These two variants of the Commanding Presence class feature are available to any warlord. You can pick one of them instead of another version, such as Inspiring Presence or Tactical Presence.
Bravura Presence: When an ally who can see you spends an action point to take an extra action and uses the action to make an attack, the ally can choose to take advantage of this feature before the attack roll. If the ally chooses to do so and the attack hits, the ally can either make a basic attack or take a move action after the attack as a free action. If the attack misses, the ally grants combat advantage to all enemies until the end of his or her next turn.

I wonder how good those new powers are going to be.

Thing is, monsters have lots of hitpoints...and their basic attacks are often almost as good as their encounter powers.

For pcs, their biggest strengths are through powers...not basic attacks.

Trading basic attack blows with a monster doesn't seem like a profitable situation.

My parties warlord is really hoping for a non-melee attack. or a buff for non-adjacent allies. Or a power that helps ally or self. If martial power only provides more of the same, I'm going to have a disappointed player.

actually unified in blood does meet some of these, as it shifts the warlord to provide backup and free attacks for an ally at range. Yay!

BTW the preview does not need a subscription - (unlike the bard preview)
