Excited about Magic of Incarnum?

Are you? I'm not.
While the concept certainly sounds interesting, I just don't think it's needed.

Having not see much talk about it, I'm wondering if others are feeling the same way.

I may change my mind when I hear their thoughts about how to drop it into Eberron, but as it stands, I don't plan on picking it up.

When I saw the banner for it at Gen Con, I thought; cool, something to throw into a steampunk campaign. The more I've seen of it, though, has left me kind of blah.

Well, these days I don't plan on picking up any d20 book until I've seen a review.

(Well, I picked up 'Year's best d20', but that was basically a review of the best parts of a bunch of books. And it was like $20 anyway. :)

I like the idea of alternate magic systems. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do. But I'm not picking it up until I see some reviews of how well it all works.

Based on the previews on WOTC's site, I have to say no. I just don't have any interest in a new system of "magic", and all the classes, prestige classes, and feats that go along with it.

I also fear a 2nd Ed level of power creep coming with products like this.

Based on the excerpts etc., you can add me to those with no interest in the product. As per usual, WOTC tries something new, but once again misses the mark for my interest unlike several 3rd parties.

If those previews were indicative about the flavor or mechanics, I pass. And while I appreciate them not calling the new elf race "elves," I'm baffled why we needed them at all.

I do applaud WotC for trying new magical systems, but it looks like Tome of Magic will be the one I'm more likely to pick up.
