My birthday is this month, and it just so happens my sister's new boyfriend is worth a couple million. I wonder if I should start dropping hints.

Okay, so, how does a robot suit imply that people will "mutate into supermen"? Is it radioactive or something?

Remember the "Engrish" effect? Translating something from English to Japanese or vice-versa can be problematic unless the translator is well-versed with both languages and cultures. OR, it could be the speaker's version of "marketing hype."

However, I HAVE seen such exo-skeletons in function on Discovery Channel before now - in fact, that "Star Wars" program they ran had an earlier model of this thing actually demo'ed, as a person with a muscular disorder was actually shown WALKING with this thing down the street. So, unless this is a HUGE hoax, which I doubt, it's the real deal.

Assuming the later models of thse things work well, how long do you think before we see Civil Law Enforcement and Military equipped with these things? Or do you think it will be limited to construction work and the like?

Sounds like its meant to bring people up to "average" ability. We're probably a long ways away from RoboCop.

Well, yeah, that's kind of my point. Bad translatiuon, or hype - it is an inaccurate report.

The so called "Star Wars" programs were hardly examples of developing quality products at reasonable prices. And, in parallel with the usual law - Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from a rigged demonstration.

So, I'd expect it to be a long time before we see these things in action. Not for construction, or law enforcement, or anything. If we're only seeing careful demonstrations now, the technology will perform poorly and be extremely expensive for a long while yet.

I think it is because the next generation suit will allow you to transform into a car, or a super stong robot with a big gun and jet pack legs...
