The master of Ravenloft is having guests for dinner...
and you are invited.

A dark shape emerges from the shadow of Castle Ravenloft. A flash of lightning reveals the sneering countenance of Count Strahd von Zarovich. His eyes burn with eternal hunger and contempt for life. From a narrow balcony, he peers out into the drizzling twilight at the few sad lights of the village below and mutters a single name:

“Ireena . . .”

Expedition to Castle Ravenloft is a DUNGEONS & DRAGONS deluxe adventure that updates the original 1st Edition Ravenloft module, retaining the Gothic flavor and familiar elements while expanding and reimagining some of the locations to create a deeper, richer adventure experience.

This campaign arc adventure is designed for characters of levels 6–10 and features a new, easy-to-use combat encounter format. This book also presents new magic items, feats, and prestige classes for player characters.
So far, very good ...

Say what?

Amazon has it as a hardcover, which makes more sense, but Amazon is generally less-accurate with RPG information than, say, the publisher.

I really want this, but I'll be extremely disappointed to shell out that kind of money for a softcover. (And yes, I've felt that about every other premium-priced softcover over the years from other companies, before anyone asks.)

Maybe the pages are perforated to allow easier use of the delve format. If so, a hardback wouldn't make sense. Now $34.95 is still a bit high, unless the thing is full color, in which case it seems about right to me (based on their other products).

Sounds alot like the format of Red Hand of Doom.

Softcover and covers several levels of PC advancement. Red Hand was around $25.00.

Expedition to Castle Ravenloft: Hardcover

Gentlefolk,

Our site is in error, and I've dropped a note to those who can fix it.

Expedition to Castle Ravenloft is a 224 page hardcover book.

It's freakin' awesome, too!

WotC is always watching... :uhoh:

Thanks for the clarification!

(Although I am extremely frightened that amazon got it right.... :D )

Thanks, Gwendolyn! Kind of you to give a fast clarification. I'll edit the thread title accordingly.

Whizbang, feel free to edit it to something you like better.

That sounds nice. I was actually thinking of running the original Ravenloft at some point (already did so for 3E, actually), guess I'll wait for this then. :D

Bye
Thanee

If their "conversion" is anywhere close to mine... What? 10th level? Whimpy conversion! Oh well! I'll still buy it for the nice pretty and modern technology maps and the additional material, and then insert my Strahd.
