Expending Focus between iterative attacks

Well, just one question.

Can a psychic character expend his focus between iterative attacks in a full attack action?
The player in question wants to use this tactic to use the deep impact feat on his second attack in a full attack to better his chances to hit more than once.

"Expending your psionic focus does not require an action; it is part of another action (such as using a feat)."

I can't see any problem with using Deep Impact on the second attack.

Can you think of any other feat that allows you a bonus on only one of your iterative attacks of your choice?

smites can be used on only 1 attack, witch can be the 2nd attack
thus extra smiting (Complete Divine) is an excample of a feat that also alows a bonus on an iterative attack. It can be argued that the same conts for improved sunder/disarm/trip

More mundanely, Precise Shot and Point Blank shot can fall into this category, as well.

I could fire my first and second shots at distant targets, and then fire my third at a target within 30' and engaged in melee combat.
