Experiences with the updated Skill Challenge?

I don't think it is really a big deal. Past a certain point, you can't fail an aid-another check anyways. Might be significant at lower lvs, but this really depends on the party makeup. If they consist of PCs who are each allocated a list of skills to max out (and the rest dump accordingly), then it may be useful.:)

Personally - I think that this is a fatal flaw to Aid Another. I don't like the fact that it has a static DC.

I believe that Aid Another should use the Easy DC from page 42 (pre-errata). This makes it a DC of 10 at 1st-3rd, and about equally challenging at higher levels.

Yup, I've also been considering to use a variable DC for Aid Another. I'm just not sure yet, how to set it. I'd prefer the DC to be a function of the task's DC you're trying to aid.

My reasoning is that to be truly helpful in a given task, you need to have a pretty good idea what has to be done. While it should be easy to help with routine tasks that even untrained persons can succeed at, helping with extremely complicated tasks that only an experienced specialist would even try should be difficult.

So, I'd like to set it to, say, (original DC-5) or something...
