Experiences with Warcraft

I recently picked up the Manual of Monsters(two weeks ago), but haven't gotten the actual Warcraft book. I give the MM high marks for many of the neat creatures in it. After flipping through the book a few times at my FLGS I decided to get it because the creatures really seemed to fit my homebrew setting that I'm working on. Over the weekend I used the Naga(renamed them) in my FR campaign and they was great. My player didn't know what the heck that was and what to do about it. That is the biggest plus, IMO, of getting new monster books. The WTF? factor.

Beyond the frickin powerful villians, I recommend this book even to those not running a Warcraft game. I know I'll get a lot of use from the book.

Also:
It looks like the Alliance and Horde Companion includes races like the Pandaren, and Naga again. How much overlap is there between the two books?

The overlap is basically just a few races. The versions in the MoM are 'monsters', they have several racial HD and such. The versions in the A&HC are slimmed down to fit into the LA +1-2 bracket that PCs can actually use.

I ran a brief (read: Three Weeks) Warcraft game a few months ago. It went horriblly I doubt the setting itself was broken but it attracted a lot of very immature players to the table who I wouldn't have approached for a more mature and thoughtful game (which I tried to make it ) I still like the setting and plan to buy Magic and Mayhem but my desire to start a Warcraft game is practilly non-existent now.

...As for the Healer... it's about damn time someone balanced the Cleric, there's no reason devotion and caring somehow imparts on you the ability to wear full plate.

..I do believe the prestige classes are ridiculously easy to qualify for and in the case of some (Gladiator) it bore no resemblence to what the class did in the game, so in that case I used the Blademaster class from Dragon #299

I don't recall that pretige class. Do you mean the keshin blademaster from the dungeon with the demonblade adventure?

Cool. I ordered the Monster book today.

I don't suppose there are any websites or posts documenting changes people have made to the core book to balance it, or bring things in it closer to the world as presented in the games?
