D&D General Extra Life Charity D&D Accessories - With possible hints for the Forgotten Realms books?

Fairly simple matter to put Goliaths all over the map of Faerûn in the margins, in strange mountains or tundra.

That was kind of true with Stone Goliaths, or even Hill, Frost, and Fire Goliaths, but that really doesn't make sense for Cloud & Storm Goliaths.

Anyways I looked at the picture piece from Grimm's cloth map, and it too has a Dragon surrounded by fire in Chessenta, that suggests big things are happening around Tchazzar/Tiamat in the Old Empires Region. Makes me wonder why its wasn't a sixth region for AiF given her seems important enough to be a major feature of two maps.

Perhaps an upcoming adventure set in Chessenta?

I don't think FR really fits the term points of light setting.

Yes it has alot of wilderness, and Faerun very large land, at least the size of North America, not including the Underdark even, but there simply are too many major nations and cities, and relatively (by D&D standards, compared to say Greyhawk, Nentir Vale, Darksun...) safe trade routes between many cities and nations, its too cosmopolitan.

I mean for large Kingdoms you Mulhorand, Chessenta, Unther, Cormyr, Sembia, Calimshan, Impiltur, Damara, Vaasa, Rashemen, Thay, Algarond, Tethyr, Amn, Moonshae Isles, Evermeet, The Great Rift, Lurien, Durpur, Halruaa, Lantan, Sempar, etc...

Now are there parts of FR that are points of light, yes, Icewind Dale, Swordcoast (sort of, by FR standards, not others), Westgate sort of, Chult, etc...

But can you say Cormyr is points of light? Or Mulhorand? Sembia? Even Thay while dark is not really points of light for all its evil, there is a national order to its evil, its rules based evil band things like bandits are not tolerated.
The core parts of the Setting are the Savage Frontier and Dalelands, both if which are 100% Points of Light: Aaterdepe is cosmopolitan, but us surrounded by thousands if square miles of trolls and dragons. Look at Princss of the Apocalypse: that Campaign is right af Waterdeep's doorstep. And civers an area larger than the United Kingdom thst is almost sntidely Monster infested wilderness.

Every nation you mention is chocka loc full of giants, Dragons, genius, fiends, and Megadungeons.

Costs fishing villages here and there, or in mountain enclaves. Easy enough, there is so much howling space.

I think Tchazzar is going to end up being the central figure of the region, yes.

It wouldn't surprise me to see a big Campaign for each of the 5 regions that aren't in the DMs Guide:

  • Lich King Rides Again in the Bloodsfone lands?
  • Tchazzar wants to rule all the mar les in the Old Empires?
  • Szass Tam in the Arcane Empires
  • Shade ruins in Anauroch?
  • Aslan Under Assault in the Vilhon Reach?

The Extra Life page has been updated to show a Lorwyn focused live stream on November 8. People can donate to the four players to choose things like their class and species, with the following 7 species listed.

boggart, shadowmoor elf, faerie, flamekin, kithkin, changeling, rimekin.

Since we know only two species are new for the supplement, my guess is Flamekin and Rimekin are the two new options, with Goblin subbing in for Boggart and Halfling subbing in for Kithkin.
