It's interesting to note that, despite the high CAN$, it still costs more to buy the book in Canada. Are WOTC trying to drive the FLGS out of business?

Only if every other publisher is trying to screw Canada, considering nearly every other publisher still has a higher CAN$ price on books. Old habits die hard.

Well, looks like another book coming my way via Amazon. I'm sorry for the B&M folks and all, but until the publishing industry gets its act together on exchange rates for books I'll buy online.

And yes, on reflection, I think these would be interesting to own. Still kicking myself for not getting 30 Years Of Adventure when it was $0.01.

Well it's slowly coming. Walmart is selling magazines at the American pricing. I really don't know why wizards thinks it's a good idea to charge 6 bucks more.

Hello amazon (.com not .ca)

It happens here in Australia too. My FLGS still had to pay the same price for the Deserts of Desolation minis, despite the fact that the Australian dollar is around $0.92-$0.94 USD compared to about $0.75 USD a year or so ago. :\

I wonder if WotC would keep the prices they charge my FLGS the same if the exchange rate went the other direction. Somehow I doubt it.

Edit: the below commentary applies to the original image posted, not the current and much better one!
Yuck!
I love the beholder art and I'm sure that it will be on the cover, but I'm also sure that the cover shown is just a mock up. It uses the 3E logo and the hideous 3E font, not the new 4E logo. It totally doesn't match the Races and Classes book.

My money is on the Worlds and Monsters book actually looking like the Races and Classes book, using that Beholder pic.

I think you're right and certainly hope you're right. Races and Classes is my favourite of the covers we've seen so far; I like a bit of border around my cover images.
