EZ Bake Cohorts & Followers?

Hi Gang,
One of my characters suddenly finds himself with a 30+ Followers. Is there an easy way to stat these up? I looked at an online NPC generator, but was a little underwhelmed. Do most people just list names and occupation, not worrying about the stats? Or do you do the painstaking work of stating out each one?

Suggestions are most welcome. :)

Those aren't followers - those are roadies! Is your character a rock star?

Seriously - that's ridiculous. No way you could take that many folks into a dungeon. Are you intending to take them into combat? If so, be prepared to stat everyone of them out.

The Leadership feat has its privileges... LOL

That said, none of them will be going into combat with me. They'll be back home on the recently acquired fief. Basically, they'll be taking care of the property while my character is off slaying dragons (or... telling others to slay dragons while he runs away).

As always, it's up to the DM. However, I say just list their role, class and level. You might also include things that make one or two standout.

Something like:

Captain of the Guard (Fighter 3)
10 Guards (Warrior 1)
Stablehand (Commoner 1)
Cook (Expert 2)

When you need stats for some of them, such as the guards if the base is assaulted, keep them the same. All 10 guards above will have the same stats. In a roleplay heavy campaign, maybe give them a few "blank" skills. Maybe the warriors above all have 1 skill point saved for a profession skill to add to their personality.

2 PC's IMC with leadership, a warrior priest and rogue

both statted up their followers by class & level only, apart from a couple where they highlighted particular roles / skills

eg one of the rogues followers was a master of disguise, another was an accomplished healer.

Two of the priests followers were craftsmen, an Expert 2 to design the new temple, and an Expert 1 as a handyman to keep the place going. the rest were a mixture of fighters, warriors and clerics

if it ever came to combat, i'd just use the NPC's by class and level from the DMG.

Cohort is different though. initially they came up with Race / Class / Level but it'll be built like a PC with DM input.... (though the Rogue did just use an NPC generator for his Bard and said he'd stat it properly later....)

So far both have decided their followers / cohorts will be only used as scouts / spies and not actually taken to an area of risk. Both are basically good aligned so they aren't likely to use them as cannon fodder

Survey Says...!

I agree with the consensus. Class & Level, with perhaps a slight description (Weaver, Captain of the Guard, etc.) for the important ones.

Thanks folks! :)
