The problem with this approach is that the rogue varies widely between exceptional and useless based on campaign style. In a high-intrigue high-RP subterfuge-type game, the rogue overpowers the other classes unbelievably. In a combat-based dungeon hack, the modified rogue is useless. Whilst the current rogue does have it's strengths and weaknesses, it is roughly balanced with the other classes for most gaming types.
