Fallout Trilogy

I just picked up a copy of the Fallout Trilogy, a three-pack from Interplay of Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. I already owned all three games, of course, so why would I buy them again?

The new pack includes the games setup to install and run on Vista, fully patched with both the official patches and the gamer community additional patches. The original Fallout is also setup to run at higher res. In short, I can play them again in 15 minutes rather than trying to get the original disks to work.

Been playing these games, well, back to Wasteland on the Apple II+. This gives me something to do while I wait for the Broken Steel DLC for Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. :)

Sweet! Where did you get that, and how much?

I think FO2 still runs for me on my Windows XP rig, not sure about FO1 and I lost my FO Tactics copy somehow, so I'd like to check this out.

I just stumbled across it at Target for about $20, I think. Well worth it, in my opinion.

One thing I noticed is that I have to turn down my screen res manually before starting Fallout to get a normal looking view, but that's trivial.

It's also on Amazon.com: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Fallout-Triology-3-Pack-Compilation-Pc/dp/B001V9PTVE/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1240874929&sr=8-1]Amazon.com: Fallout Triology - 3 Pack Compilation: PC: Video Games[/ame]

YMMV with Fallout Tactics. Think of it as Jagged Edge set in a slightly non-canon Fallout universe. It was a big disappointment to many just because it wasn't an RPG. I thought it was worth playing, but nowhere near the enjoyment level.

I have verified, BTW, that both Fallout and Fallout 2 so far seem to install and run flawlessly on Vista from this pack. The only thing I've had to do is tweak my video configuration -- lower res for #1, and lower color density for #2.
