THANK YOU!If somebody hadn't already posted this, there's a certain froggy around here that wouldn't have been too happy!

Toads don't cause warts either.

I've played one arcane caster. I took a toad for him because I wanted to my character to hold the toad in hand, stroking it between its bulbous eyes with his thumb, while muttering, "Well, Mister Toad, what do we do now?"

I like familiars because they give the mage a constant companion. As such, I tend to favor birds, since they can sit on your shoulder and share all the action, and scout and such as well. My last familiar was a hawk. (I'm somewhat annoyed and confused as to why the hawk grants no bonus whatsoever. *sigh* The things we do for character concept. :p)

In the same campaign, a ranger/sorcerer/arcane archer got herself a toad familiar.

Let's just say that my familiar played a larger role in my character concept than the toad did in hers. :D

Stands up, "Hi, my name is Zhure, and I took the toad."

It was my first Sorcerer and these things have to be done occasionally. Since then, I think my current favorite is "Lithp" the tiny poisonous snake. He's so innocuous and unnoticed the party was surprised when I mentioned his existance again after four levels. He's sneaky and serves as a unique communication device when the Ranger went scouting.

Primarily Lithp is my bodyguard, poised to take out anyone who dares grapple me. So far, my Sorcerer has done really well in avoiding that plight, so it's still my ace-up-the-sleeve.
