Family Guy Seasons Premier (it's a Star Wars parody)

I thought the episode was funny, not the best FG episode by far.

I think when it comes out on video there will be more to it. The commercials here in CT had Stewie throwing out a bunch of one liners, a few were

" I just Sith myself" and "My dippers have gone over to the darkside"

After a few of them he says "oh I got pages of these"

The whole banter about Robot Chicken was one of better moments

It was fun.

I especially liked the animation over the space shots. At first it was hard to tell they actually painted over the ships, but it looks amazing when they did.

not great, but still good for an evening

greatest thing ever? not even close.

a couple jokes that fell flat or carried on a bit too long for me? yeah

did i enjoy seeing the recreation of some classic scenes? yes

a couple really funny jokes? yes

did i take it overly seriously? no - therefore it was enjoyable.

had i expected god (or equivalent(s))'s work, then i would have been disappointed though.

over all, all in good fun.

:)

I laughed out loud only a few times. I had seen the preview reel they showed at a con already online, and that contained most of the best jokes. The Doctor Who reference (Hyperspace is STRANGE!) and the non-involvement of Meg were both good fun. Adam West as Grand Moff Tarkin was hysterical casting. There were some jokes that just went on too long, and I didn't like. The couch gag was good for a chuckle, but like a lot of Family Guy recently, they dragged the joke through the mud, kicking and screaming for timing. The overlong, mundane shot is funny RARELY.

I did like the Robot Chicken Star Wars special better. It was more fun, whereas this felt like more of an homage to the material.

The overly-long shot has always been a staple of Family Guy, and one of the reasons I love it. I'm regularly going, "ok, the funny is over... no, it's over now... ohmygod they're committed to this bit... *chuckle* still!... *LOL!!!*"

At least that's how it works for me.

The many, many throwaway lines were great. Loved stuff like the guy watching the Millennium Falcon land with the binocular gun thingy going "pew pew, gotcha". Awesome.

I'm just surprised they didn't have a weird "they went there" moment where Chris makes out with his mom at the end after receiving medals. After they revealed who was playing what I was looking for it the whole episode. Robot Chicken's was definitely better. Here's to Moral Orel doing a Star Wars episode eventually.

I switched away from King of the Hill, forgot to go back to FG, so missed it. I've missed most of the new stuff though, so not a big deal, as most of what I saw wasn't up to the same standard as previously.

It wasnt the best Family Guy ep ever, but I enjoyed it. Especially liked the out of the blue Airplane refs.

"Red October, Standing by" had me in stitches.

How many people here thought of jokes they could've done or should've done, but they didn't?

One that I thought of would be Chris/Luke coming out of his tie-fighter after destroying the Death Star, hugging Lois/Leia and shouting "Alex!"

Later,

Atavar
