Fans of the Eldritch Weaver, I have found a source of threads

I have like the idea of path magic since it was in Dragon and when I read about the EW, I bought the Advanced Player's Manual just for that class. The threads of spell are not exactly what I was hoping for, though. When I was looking for something similar to prestige racial levels for Oathbound, I bought a couple files hoping that they would would be similar enough to convert. I was wrong, but the idea works so well for the EW, I am happy I bought them. They are Distant Horizon's files on rpgnow titled Paths of Power. They are meant to be a new way of looking at spell lists and are, more or less, the same as the threads of the EW. If you aren't sure you want to spend money on it, the basic file is free.

As a bonus, they are also written with a great sense of humor.

Really? Do they have anything similar to the EW's special abilities?

(The EW was about the only thing I dug from the APM.)

Generally no. The alignment paths (3- good, evil and TN) do have something similar to domains, but that it is. But with that being said, there are a ton of new spells to help fill out the paths and, with a bit of work, some spells from other sources can be either in the paths (and thus using path spells for the special abilities) or used as the special abilities themselves.
