Fantastic Four Trailer

Though I'll wait to see it before I make my final call I will say that it looks good.

On thing we all should have learned by now is that while trailers are fun they dont say a thing about the movie (look at the trailers for the US release of Hero, its a completly different movie).

I tlooks ok to me. Nothing that screams "I must see this movie!", but it doesn't say "skip it" either. I'll wait to see what the later trailers look like, and what the reviews say. I've never been a Fantastic Four fan, so it'll be no big loss to me if I end up skipping it. One thing that does bug me is that Ben Grimm just doesn't look big enough.

This trailer doesn't show enough of anything, but yet it was still cool in its own way.

I don't know if the movie will be good or not, but after reading a brief article in Game Informer from the director about the movie, he pretty much stated that, like all other Stan Lee's creations, the F4 have their human quabbles about them, coming to terms about their changed conditions and the Thing having to change the most because he is permanently changed and can no longer fit in human society (as well). He also talks about Doom, and how Doom's personal and ultimate goal is to kill Reed Richards, his hatred of this man, and what levels he will stoop to killing the one person who is probably smarter than he is.

Now, I've never read a F4 comic, so I don't know if this is how it was originally, but I do know that Doom doesn't like the F4... and from reading this, if they picked an actor who can portray this version of Doom as he described, I will really like this movie.

Any bigger in the brick suit, and he couldn't walk properly....and they didn't want to see CGI either, although, I did catch a glimpse of the another notorious FF---err film to video, I would in comparsion say, the new Grimm is a bit more streamline. And I believe they wanted to go the organic route.

ugh! Why does Hollywood insist on changing stuff that doesn't need changing?

Doom is one of the coolest baddies out there.
He doesnt need to be a Cosmically Irradiated Electro!
They should have just stuck with his original character concept.

The changes they made to Doom makes me not want to see the movie.

But other than those little images, we don't know anything about the electricity. For all we know, there's a reason for it beyond powers. Of course, I doubt that, but its wishful thinking. And if they DO add an electricity element to it, I'll still go see it. I love the Fantastic Four. The electricity would be the only thing they're really adding...as the rest of the changes to Doom were already made in the Ultimates line.

Yeah..probably good thing I never read the Ultimates stuff.

I have seen enough revamping, rehashing of the same stories in comics.

Aside from being mildly annoyed that they cast Jessica Alba as Sue Storm - but some white guy as her brother Johnny - I also think the trailer looks like a trailer for a really bad movie.

I will see this movie hoping for an equivalent to The Punisher - not a good movie, but pleasantly unserious about itself and charmingly unpretentious - and maybe I'll be surprised.

(I will forever defend the Thomas Jane Punisher on the grounds of it not starring Dolph Lundgren and because of the flaming-cars-making-the-skull shot near the end.)
