Fantasy Art?

I was gonna see if anybody had some suggestions for filler type art work? Is there a collection, website, or cd bundle that has a good amount of generic fantasy art.

Hey Eosin,

We put out a product designed to give small publishers filler art within your products. All art is copyright free and can be used without any constraints. So check out our APG Studio Companion Vol. I.

There is also a demo that details what is public domain and how can you take this copyright free art and make it copyrightable.

Dover Publications (search on Amazon for them, average price is $14 each)has some clip art bundles that might suit your purposes. I bought a boatload of them for potential filler art along with the Larry Elmore Clipart Collection (good for head shot illustrations only).

Some of the ones I picked up art Celtic and Viking deisgns, medieval illustrations, creatures from fantasy and mythology, and some designs good for border illustrations. Their license agreement is a little strange, in that you can use no more than 4 or 10 of their drawings in one publication without paying a license fee.

Word to the wise: When buying artwork, remember that you get what you pay for. Of course with the lower sales and profit margins we face in PDF publishing, I believe artwork should always be the last concern. The story and design of the product should outweigh any mediocre artwork.
