Fantasy, Authenticity, or Simplicity?

As my various story hours will attest to, I am a huge fan of unusual/non-traditional, high-fantasy (but not high-magic) settings.

And surrealism. I'm very big on surrealism.

I voted simplicity, but being that I'm an American of European descent running an Oriental Adventures game for a group of Americans of European descent, I suppose I am shooting for authenticity as well. As a general rule, if a Vietnamese "thing" (custom, concept, name, etc) enhances roleplaying and versimillitude, I use it. If it confuses my players too much and/or dramatically slows down play, I don't use it.
