Hello everyone, I recently ran Hoard of the Dragon Queen for my group and used custom maps I found at http://www.daniel-pietschmann.de/rpg/2015/07/26/new-battlemap-for-skyreach-castle-hotdq/. They were so awesome but I decided it would be great to show them the map on a TV. So I wrote some code to carve out sections of the map that would appear on a mouseclick, and was thus able to run my players through the castle and only reveal a room when they entered.
Well, I generalized and expanded that code and put it up at http://www.fantasymapbuilder.com/
Basically the site allows you to define sections of an image that are displayed on a mouseclick. It also lets you build simple dungeons with a set of dungeon walls, tiles, and objects that were originally taken from http://www.fantasticmaps.com/ with permission from the artist.
I have been using the site to play my games. My current setup is a 43" flatscreen covered with a poster frame sitting on my table so that we can actually play on the maps that I'm building on my site.
It isn't flashy or have infinite options, but I think it hits the good middle ground of flexibility and ease of use. I wanted to share the site with you all and welcome any thoughts and/or feedback. Thanks everyone!
