Greetings.. I have this player who wants to play the fastest moving character possible... and he wants to know about gaining a bonus to AC for moving fast, based on the precept of the Haste spell.
So, looking it up, 3.5 Haste adds +30 to base move and grants a +1 to AC, altho these two bonuses are not explicitly linked.
Expiditions Retreat also adds +30 to base move but grants no bonus to AC.
Speedy thinks that, if he run at 27.2 MPH, he should be harder to hit when flitting about the battlefield at twice to three times a normal persons movement.
(he is not there yet.. I am planning ahead. Right now he is a 1st level Monk with a move of 30)
So, I thought I would ask y'all what how you would rule, and these are the thoughts I have. Feel free to shoot them down, add your own, or say 'Me2!'
Grant +1 AC for double normal movement and +2 AC for triple normal movement.
Allow him to trade feet of movement for bonus to AC, kindof a specialized Combat Expertise, probably something like +1 AC for each 20' of movement 'spent' without reducing his move below base
Say Heck No! Moving fast is enough of a benefit!
Grant +1 AC at base move of 60', +2 at 90', etc..
Thanks for helping me out!
