Yeah, I had been avoiding them just based on some of the poor thoughts on some of the older ones (the old 2e splat books and the 3e stuff). Looks like its time to add them to my collection. I wonder if its just because they are the newer ones that they are getting so many votes?
Or maybe because they're 'more official'?

I'm madly in love with Green Ronins Races of Renown books, but know little about it's Class Books, besides the Cavalier and the Noble. But them's I like better than most official books. I was hooked on the Quint Series early on, but now I don't see what was so great about them. so, I'll vote GRonin.

Or because people just happen to like them better than the other series. ;)

I love the Complete Books(even though Divine is a bit lacking), but also enjoy most of the Quint books and the Path Of... series. I just like the Complete series better.

Though they are billed as race books, Bad Axe Games' Heroes of High Favor series focuses on the favored class of each race. The PrCs mostly are interesting characters I would like to play, providing both a place in the campaign world and uniting two classes mechancially. The feats are well thought out and interesting, and each is filled out with other rules suitable to the subject. The book in elves is worth the asking price for the rules on Ley Lines and Spell Creation alone.

I went with e Quint line. It is the most hit and miss of the all the class line books, but the ones that hit are really great.
Would you suggest any in particular? I have a game coming up with a player intent on playing a drow psion. He owns the quint. drow, and neither of us own the Psionics handbook yet :) . I've found your reviews extremely informative and helpful, and, since you haven't reviewed these, a thumbs up/down would be kindly appreciated.

thanks,
-john

The 4 best are Monk, Sorcerer, Rogue, and Wizard. I found Bard to be useful too.

If you actually look at them as a series, then the "Complete" series from Wizards probably is the most consistently good in quality.

I've only seen a couple of the worst Quint. books, and they were so absolutely horrible that it stopped me from considering any other of those books. With series of supplements, it is essential to keep them close to each other in utility and power.

It's a pity Races of Destiny is so divergent in quality from Races of Stone, because it doesn't bode well for other books in the series...

Cheers!
