Favorite Cyberpunk Game/System

CP2020.. a couple months ago I would bemoan the lack of the book on my shelf, courtesy of an incident involving a flood.. but Amazon.com is a wonderful thing :)
{now tot just pick up the good supplements.... and find a group willing to play!}

And I echo that DreadGazebo is a very good resource.. :)

To be fair, cyberpunk is a pretty 80's phenomenon. I'd group THS and CP203X (*spits*) as post-cyberpunk games, to be technical about it.

203x is actually very good if you can over look the art dolls (don't get me started on the art dolls) and the typos.

I can't fathom why there are typos in any book published today. How hard is it to run a spellchecker?

Nice to see people enjoying and appreciating the cyberpunk aspects of Etherscope, a lot of attention is given to the Victoriana side but its a fully cyberpunk game in theme and style.

Spellcheckers are only so intelligent, and with large manuscripts the person running the checker needs to be more proficient than just being able to start the spellchecker and hit OK a few times. I've seen a lot of typos that were caused by a spellchecker that corrected a misspelled word but corrected it to the wrong correctly spelled word, or the use of "replace all" on too generic a word correcting some grammar but destroying it in other areas. Then you have those oops moments when typing for 16 hours and you accidentally use word instead of ward, or write instead of right.... And sometimes the text is correct but then the layout guy bungles the formatting and alters the type long past all of those steps.

The real solution to typos, in my experience as a sometimes desktop publisher, is thorough proof reading. Fresh, but knowledgeable, eyes are best. And every pair you get costs time and money, which can be an issue for publishers on a budget or in a rush to get something out the door and turn a profit.
