Favorite "Sword and Planet" or Post-Apocalyptic Monsters/Adventures?

So I'm planning my next campaign, and I'm trying to get ideas. Anyone have any favorite sci-fantasy stuff? Non-D&D things are fine, as long as they work in a classic D&D context (i.e., dudes with swords and pointy hats have to be able to interact with it in non-boring ways).

I've always wondered if derros were inspired by "deros (detrimental robots)" from the works of Shaver.
