Favorite Third-Party Settings

1. Wilderlands of High Fantasy
2. Ptolus
3. Oathbound
4. World of Warcraft

Now to wrap them all into one big home mega campaign setting... :)

Iron Kingdoms, the setting in Arcana Unearthed/Evolved, and Etherscope all have really great settings that I enjoy.

In fact, combining all three would make me a very happy camper.

I'll toss my vote in for Oathbound as well. Its a nice departure from the vanilla crap we've been force fed for 30 years. You really dont have to be high level to go there either (my current group was drawn in at 4th level). Iron Kingdoms is a well written setting as well.

Though I use Arcana Evolved rules, I dont like the setting. It feels a little bland, without the conflict of other settings.

warlords of the accord lands is pretty good, have not used it yet but it's got three big fat books for support that i have seen, the phb equivalent, an atlas and a monster book, all around the 300+ page range.

hope that helps

scarred lands is my favorite, unique locations that i steal ideas from constantly, a different take on the DnD game and some cool monsters and magic in the supporting hardcover books

game of thrones d20 is sweet, a game of political intrigue where reputation and social status are far more important then your shiny new sword.

if you can get your hands on the warcraft (not world of warcraft) stuff from sword and sorcery, it's the warcraft world with standard dnd, i preffer it as a setting book, there is also a horde and alliance compendium. it might be 3.0 though, I cannot immediately recall and i'm at work so I can't check.

I'll second a lot of these. In particular:

Ptolus
Wilderlands
Scarred Lands
Oathbound
Warlords of Accordlands

There really are a lot of good "non-standard" settings out there. How traditional do you want your fantasy?

Whoa, 15 posts to get some Scarred Lands loving? Nightfall is slipping. Or sleeping. One or the other. :)

But, I would like to second that one. While I have some issues with the mechanics of SL, and much of the mechanics are 3.0, the fluff end of things is fantastic.

Hussar, I got a new job (in reality) that prevents me from posting as much as I would normally. I was sleeping some times too. :p ;)

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys. It's people like you that make me glad I pimp the Scarred Lands! :D
