Favorite Video Game Weapon!!!

The yo-yo from Star Tropics (old NES game).

Someone here has a graphic from the game in their .sig--it's got an older man talking about a banana, I think....

An Armored Core, if mecha count as weapons. :D

If not, then..... Probably the chaingun from Quake 3. I liked to call it the frag cannon and go around blasting everywhere like a maniac. :heh: :p

Final Fantasy VIII's gunblade was an awesome weapon. Sure, it's about as usable as a rat-flail, but hey, it looked awesome and was a neat idea.

I also have a soft spot for the Ratchet & Clank gun that turns the enemies into sheep. I'm not fighting evil, I'm collecting the most adorable army ever!

In Sid Meier's Pirates, I like the rapier for close combat, and the chainshot for ship-to-ship...

In Stronghold, I like a group of archers (and a little bit of time to let them clear the battlements)... though flinging the cow with the trebuchet is tons 'o fun...

In Age of Sail, I like a full broadside...

In Call of Duty, I like the sniper rifle...

In SimCity, I use high taxes and low infrastructure-- I can kill a whole city that way! ;)

Gotta be the railgun from Marathon: EVIL. Something about being able to fire a shard of futuristic metal through multiple enemies just appeals to my sense of horrible maiming goodness. :]

Edit: Ah, I see someone mentioned the SPNKR. See, I never enjoyed that weapon. Now that I think about it, I really like a lot of the weapons from Marathon: EVIL better. The .44 Magnum gets an upgrade to an amazing magazine capacity of 12 bullets, the fusion pistol becomes a fusion rifle with full autofire, and you can wield such wonderful new weapons as a Pfhor staff (ranged-capable) and the Mortar Unit (launches mini-nukes, NOT for use in close quarters).

The Halo sticky grenades! How fun was it to drop one on a grunt and watch it run in terror back to its buddies hiding in cover!?

The Halo needler was cool too. I love homing projectiles.

Add to that Force Push in the Jedi Knight series. Ok, its not really a weapon. But with all of those Star Wars trademark bottomless pits, Force Push rules. Especially those stupid evil jedi in the sith catacombs mission of Jedi Outcast. Just wait for them to reach the apex of their Jedi Jump and force push them back into the chasm. Posers!

And maybe the sniper rifle in Max Payne. Slo-mo bullet's-eye-view baby!
