Fiery Dragon Productions signs on to DriveThruRPG.com

Toronto, Ontario — The era of digital delivery is here, and Fiery Dragon has joined it. If you’ve ever had trouble locating any of our products, this is your lucky day. You can now get them within minutes at DriveThruRPG.com, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We are happy to announce that we’ve entered into an exclusive agreement with DriveThruRPG.com to offer our roleplaying game products as secure e-Books on this new site. You can check out the e-Book versions of our products there right now.

DriveThruRPG.com is a gaming e-Book site that offers secure downloads using Adobe's secure server technology. This allows us to offer our full line of products as e-Books on the site. Basically what iTunes is for music, DriveThruRPG.com is for roleplaying games. It’s a virtual gaming superstore with products from top RPG publishers, from current releases to the classic games that brings us back to our own “good old days.”

If the technophobes out there need any further encouragement to give RPG e-Books a try, we’re making an irresistible offer. In order to help our fans get excited about this new way to get their games, Fiery Dragon and DriveThruRPG.com will be offering a brand-new Counter Set Sampler for download absolutely free during the week of August 11 to August 17.

Talk about a good deal!

Unfortunately, you need Adobe Reader 6.0 to use these, and that won't even install on Windows 98. Though of course, I find Reader to be buggy anyway, and have to use Ghost Gum/Viewer.

These pdfs use the Adobe DRM, which is very annoying to say the least... And means you can't open it in Ghost Gum/Viewer (i tried ;-)

I must say i to find it interesting, interesting enough to put my dislike for DRM asside and check it out and see if it's usefull or not.

i just ordered:
1 x Tome Of Horrors II (1-58846-992-1) = $27.99
Which is more then i paid for my printed version. It allows me to select text, but only allows me to copy 10 selections in the next 10 days (which sucks). It allows me to print (don't know how much).

I'm not an Adobe guru, however, I had to install Adobe 6 on my Windows 98SE computer a few weeks ago. It installed and works. I had Adobe 4 (already installed) but the auto updater didn't want to work and I finally had to do it manually.

Wait... TOH2 pdf for 27.99? I paid like... 20 or so through amazon.com via ENWorld's Share the Love list.. (see sig) :D And with free shipping...

Yeah, I find that one a bit wierd. I guess the PDF is cheaper than the list price but still, that seems overpriced.

I'm surprised it's offered as a PDF at all. Is this the start of a new trend?
